Saraswati Professional & Higher Education College of Nursing, Gharuan, Mohali, organized a seminar on the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day 2021. The objective of the seminar was to raise awareness about suicide prevention worldwide.
Mrs. Jasbir Kaur, Principal, M.M.C.O.N., Solan (HP) Ex-President, T.N.A.I, Punjab, was the guest speaker for the day. She taught our students about stakeholder collaboration and self-empowerment to address self-harm and suicide through prevention action. During her address, she stated that suicide is one of the top 20 causes of death worldwide.
During the seminar, several suicide experts expressed concerns about the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on suicidal behavior. Around 100 students participated in the seminar that concluded with an open Q&A session.
