Observational Visit to Pharmacology Laboratory: Exploring Preclinical Research Methods
Objectives
• To provide students with practical exposure to the Pharmacology Laboratory and its facilities.
• To familiarize students with preclinical research methods, experimental procedures, and laboratory techniques.
• To enhance understanding of the application of pharmacological principles in preclinical research.
• To introduce students to commonly used laboratory equipment and experimental models in pharmacology.
• To develop awareness regarding ethical considerations, laboratory safety, and good research practices in preclinical studies.
• To bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in pharmacological research.
Outcomes
The observational visit provided participants with valuable practical exposure to the Pharmacology Laboratory and preclinical research methods. The visit enhanced students understanding of experimental procedures, laboratory equipment, and research practices, while helping them connect theoretical pharmacological concepts with their practical applications in preclinical research
Event Report / Description
An Observational Visit to the Pharmacology Laboratory on “Exploring Preclinical Research Methods” was successfully organized by the Department of Pharmacy for 7th semester students on 21st September 2026 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Bela, Tehsil Sri Chamkaur Sahib, District Ropar (Rupnagar), Punjab – 140111. The visit was organized with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to preclinical research methods, experimental procedures, pharmacological techniques, and laboratory practices. The participants were introduced to the laboratory setup, various equipment, experimental models, and procedures relevant to pharmacological research.
During the visit, students gained valuable insights into the practical application of pharmacological concepts and developed an understanding of how preclinical studies contribute to drug discovery and development. The visit also emphasized the importance of laboratory safety, ethical considerations, and good research practices while conducting experimental studies.
The observational visit provided an informative and engaging learning experience for the participants and helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications in pharmacology. The visit concluded at 4:00 PM with a note of appreciation to the faculty members and laboratory personnel for their valuable guidance and support.
