Program Overview

Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology, also known as M.Sc. MLT is a two-year postgraduate program in the field of allied health sciences that teaches the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases through the use of new-age clinical laboratory tests. Medical Laboratory Technology experts who are known as Medical Laboratory Scientists play a vital role in collecting the samples and information needed for treating pathology cases. They also examine and analyze body fluids, tissues, blood, microorganisms, etc. of the human body.

Admission Eligibility Criteria

All those candidates who have passed Bachelor’s degree in Medical Lab Technology of minimum three years duration from a University recognized by UGC.

Curriculum

Structure and Function of Biomolecules
This course’s main objective is to teach students advanced concepts on the relationship between biomolecules’ structure and function as well as how to use various structural bioinformatics tools.

Analytical and Physical Biochemistry
This subject’s main objective is to teach students advanced concepts on the relationship between biomolecules’ structure and function as well as how to use various structural bioinformatics tools.

Fundamentals of Enzymology
In this subject, students will learn the structure, functions, and mechanism of action of enzymes. Gain a deeper comprehension of the principles behind enzyme kinetics, immobilized enzyme kinetics, and soluble enzyme kinetics.

Intermediary Metabolism- I
The subject aims to impart fundamental chemical and biological concepts and processes, including different kinds of chemical binding, stoichiometry, acid/base equilibrium and thermodynamics, the structure and operation of life’s molecular building blocks, enzyme catalysis, and kinetics.

Structure and Function of Biomolecule
The primary goal of the subject is to impart advanced knowledge to students on the relationship between the structure and function of biomolecules as well as the use of various structural bioinformatics tools.

The major goal of this subject is to educate students onadvanced ideas about how biomolecules’ structure and function relate to one another as well as how to use various structural bioinformatics tools.

The course goes beyond learning the technical details of the experiments performed. The course will also focus on experimental design, data analysis, and communication science.

Clinical Biochemistry-I
The students will learn about the various methods of patient sample analysis for biochemistry parameters. The students will learn how to analyze various clinical samples, for estimation of different components which are the cause of the disease or are the diagnostic/prognostic markers. This subject gives information about various clinically important enzymes & automation techniques.

Intermediary Metabolism-II
The students will learn how to recognize the principles of metabolism. Describe the regulation of the metabolism of lipids and carbohydrates. Give an overview of metabolic engineering for crop quality improvement.

General Physiology & Organ Function Test
This course is intended for majors with a broad knowledge of biology. Students who complete this course will have a better understanding of fundamental physiological concepts and how living systems are functionally organized.

Biochemical Techniques
The course covers more than just the technical aspects of the experiments conducted. Additionally, the course will emphasize data analysis, experimental design, and communicating science.

From this subject, students will gaina better understanding of fundamental physiological concepts and how living systems are functionally organized.

Clinical Biochemistry II Practical
The subject involves the clinical examination of bodily fluids and other biological components to aid in the identification, treatment, and monitoring of diseases.

Ability to conduct standard clinical laboratory procedures in clinical biochemistry, hematology, immunology, and immunohematology as well as microbiology, body fluid analysis, and laboratory procedures.

Visit sgcollege.edu.in/ SGCADMIT. Sign up or register with basic details (i.e. name, email id, mobile no., state, gender, and password). Login to the SGCADMIT with an already created username/ password. * Your email id will act as your username for the portal while the password will be set by you upon registration.

Step 2 – Counselling

Upon successfully clearing the PPMET exam, you have to apply for counseling through your SGC portal, followed by SOP uploading.

Step 3 – Admission

You become eligible for admission into Saraswati Group of Colleges after the declaration of counseling result and submission of requisite fees.
